Not only a respons ible and <br />sust ainable food s ourc e, but a way to s how my c hildren how to tak e care of animals, where <br />their food (eggs and meat) and to be more apprec iativ e of meat if and when they c ome across <br />it. People hav e a right to produce their own food in their own y ards. Chic k ens are a <br />reas onable & realistic accommodation to that need.
