Chickens are known to eat many types of insect pes ts like ticks, they make very little nois e, easy to care for. J us t like for dogs, respons ible owners need pick up after the animals and make sure they don't bother the neighbors. I think if the amount of hens was restric ted to s ay 5 or 6 the chic k ens like many city ordinances, and are kept in a proper c oop and c ared f or properly, they aren't generally a problem for neighbors. The other coop is across the s treet and I only hear them in the mornings and I have to really be lis tening for them. They are not noisy. Chic k ens help reduce wood tick population. With the Crepeau Refuge down the bloc k , rac coons are an is sue also.Rams ey County animal control is non-effec tiv e & now y ou want to have chickens!
