She had no idea how muc h <br />time and effort it took so the coop got filthy. Fleas, mice, snak es and c oy otes bec ame a <br />problem for the nex t y ear. They are eas y to properly c are f or t hem. Our <br />neighbors loved them. 2 neighbors didn’t know we had them for years - the coop looked like a <br />shed. 4-6 hens don’t cause is s ues lik e s mell. We nev er had rodents or issues wit h c oy otes , <br />Fox. Those animals were in the neighborhood but wit h a good coop des ign/build they didn’t get <br />in the c oop or bother our hens. We miss the high quality eggs ! <br />10/6/2020 10:13 AM <br />308 I grew up in a MN s uburb nex t to a neighbor who had s ev eral c hic k ens. As a kid it was a great <br />experienc e taking c are of them and raising t hem. I went over there a few times a week and <br />collect ed eggs, cleaned their pen and played with the chic k ens. I ev en helped them hatch <br />chic k s . They had a rooster which was nois y but the hens were very quiet and sweet. The c hildren learned a lot bot h about responsibility as well as about <br />the logis tic s of how to des ign a coup as well as the nutritional needs of chic kens.
