Bac kyard Chic kens Survey
34 / 81
has a c oop for winter. Her c hic k ens are jus t about invisible. Her neighbor also keeps chic k ens
and they are fenc ed in as well. Both f ences are tall - at least 5 feet t all. The birds do not run
free except in their runs. The c oops are both neat and tidy. My friends chic kens are at leas t 30
feet from the hous e however her neighbors are a bit c loser. If allowed there s hould be a tall
fenc e for the chic k ens that mus t come down within a s pecified period of time if t he homeowner
stops k eeping chickens. I als o think that the coops and “pens” should be a s pec ified distance
away f rom any houses bordering the c hicken owners home so as not to dist urbed the
neighbors and t o prev ent any odors affiliated with owning chic kens away from the neighbors.
338 My sister lives in Minneapolis off Chic ago and has c hickens .
