Plan for action when resident s with chic k ens allow thos e
chic k ens to become a nuisanc e. Chicken nois e ordinance guidelines.
10/19/2020 4:26 PM
29 Permit c ontinuance contingent on not hav ing numerous legitimate neighbor c omplaints 10/19/2020 3:37 PM
30 DO NOT ALLOW THIS! YOU MAKE IT SOUND AS IF THE CI TY HAS ALREADY BOUGHT
INTO THIS! IF SO, I WILL BE AT THE NEXT CITY HALL MEETING!
10/19/2020 1:57 PM
31 No roosters 10/19/2020 12:00 PM
32 Health and wellness requirements as mentioned in previous c omment-v et care, v ac c ines , etc 10/19/2020 11:31 AM
33 In addition to general permis s ion from neighbors being required, permiss ion from neighbors
regarding the look/ should als o be required.
10/18/2020 4:21 PM
34 Cos t to ins pect chicken housing and other res tric tions s hould be born by the people with the
chic k ens, not all c ity residents .
10/18/2020 4:15 PM
35 I don’t think t hey s hould be in the front y ard for hous es with s mall yards.10/18/2020 3:56 PM
36 Nbr of chic k ens 10/18/2020 2:02 PM
37 Given their noise and potential odor, permission s hould be f rom any neighbor within 1/4 mile.
What about free roaming chic k ens as I s ee on my walks? That is at least as big an is s ue for
me.
10/18/2020 1:19 PM
38 None of the above 10/18/2020 12:25 PM
39 Again, until Arden Hills enforces it s c odes, any restrictions are bound to be dismis s ed.10/18/2020 10:05 AM
40 I don't see a need for res trictions .10/17/2020 9:09 PM
41 While I don't think c hic k ens s hould be allowed wit hin t he c it y at all, I think that if it does end up
being permitted, it needs to be heav ily regulated. Obtaining permission from neighbors is the
ultimate priority - additionally, this should be anonymous and done through the c ity s o t hat the
neighbor ask ing for permission does not have the ability to bother or pressure the neighbors
they are seeking permis s ion from. Minnesot an passiv e aggres s ion is st rong and would
absolutely be ex ploited if the permis s ion-seek ing proc ess is not adminis tered by the city and
anonymous.
10/17/2020 11:31 AM
42 Annual c heck on the sanitation and upkeep of t he c oop.10/17/2020 10:53 AM
43 My opinion is that allowing people t o k eep c hickens will be a mess to enforce, but if it is
allowed t here has to be a clear unders tanding that if a resident is not following the rules they
will lose the priv ilege to k eep c hic k ens. I AM NOT OPTIMISTIC
10/17/2020 9:42 AM
44 limit number of chic kens to 6 or less. the laying hens dont make alot of noise or caus e any
damage. they jus t walk around and pec k at ground and eat ins ec ts.
10/16/2020 10:29 PM
45 Number of chic k ens in addition to maximum c oop s ize/ s q ft of property.10/16/2020 9:19 PM
46 Evidence of chicken keeping training required 10/16/2020 6:58 PM
47 Permit c os t offs et city expenditure.10/16/2020 6:51 PM
48 None 10/16/2020 6:34 PM
49 permission s hould be only immediate neighbors 10/16/2020 5:03 PM
50 -No k illing of chic k ens on premis es or in city limits . -Formal s ound barriers in the coop.10/16/2020 2:57 PM
51 Other than establishing a max number allowed I don't believe guidelines are needed for city
chic k ens
10/16/2020 1:58 PM
52 Coop siz e and run area mus t be large enough to keep chickens comfortable, saf e, and in good
health.
10/16/2020 12:43 PM
