At <br />that time the City Council directed staff to start drafting ordinance language. Staff has been <br />focused on research and fact gathering. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Staff is looking for Council direction on the following items. <br />1. What is Council’s expectations on approval timelines for amending the animal <br />ordinance to allow for the keeping of chickens? Staff is under the impression that the <br />goal to implement an ordinance was to be completed by March 2021. <br />2. In previous discussions Council has stated they favor limiting the number of hens to <br />three (3). Is this still the case? Yes/No <br />3. Should chicken coops or chicken runs be permitted in any area of the yard besides the <br />rear yard? Yes/No <br />4. At previous work session it was mentioned that the coops shall be located close to the <br />principle (dwelling) structure to assist in screening and maintenance. What is council
