Except as indicated, all items were approved unanimously by a 5–0 vote. January 25, 2021 City Council Meeting • Approved plans and specifications and ordered advertisement for bids for the 2021 Pavement Management Program Street and Utility Improvement Project for the Hazelnut Park residential neighborhood. • Accepted a donation from the Arden Hills Foundation in the amount of $2,479.00 for installation of four park benches. • Held a public hearing and approved an application to release an easement and Conditional Use Permit from Lot 2 of 2 Pine Tree North. Lake Johanna Fire Department has purchased Lot 2 for a future fire station. • Held a public hearing and approved an application for a Conditional Use Permit, Site Plan, and Zoning Code Amendment for a multi-family senior living facility located at 2 Pine Tree Drive, Lot 1 adjacent to Minnesota State Highway 51. The property will be owned and managed by New Perspective Senior Living. The application for a Planned Unit Development was tabled to the Feb. 8, 2021 City Council Meeting. February 8, 2021 City Council Meeting • Accepted the resignation of the Public Works Director/City Engineer Todd Blomstrom, as of Feb. 5, 2021. Appointed David Swearingen to the position of Interim Public Works Director; David will also continue in his current position as Assistant City Engineer. • Approved professional services agreement with SRF Consulting for the design of the Mound View High School Trail Project, extending from County Road E2 to Mounds View High School. The proposed project would involve construction of two trail segments: segment 1 along the west side of Snelling Avenue North (CSAH 76) from the intersection of County Road E2 (CSAH 73) to Lake Valentine Road; and segment 2 along Lake Valentine Road from Snelling Avenue North (CSAH 76) to the south parking lot at Mounds View High School. • Approved plans and specifications and ordering advertisement for bids for the Hamline Avenue improvement for pedestrian crosswalk including installation of raised center medians along Hamline Avenue at Wyncrest Court and south of Indian Oaks Circle to provide safety improvements for pedestrians crossing. The project also includes an unrelated drainage improvement project along Shorewood Drive to address a local flooding issue that has persisted for several years. • Approved Planned Unit Development at 2 Pine Tree Drive Lot 1 for 192,390 square foot, four-story multi-family senior living facility on site, previously tabled from the Jan. 25, 2021 City Council meeting. Thank You to Arden Hills Foundation Thank you, Arden Hills Foundation, for the recent donation of four park benches that will enhance our City’s trail system. The benches, with plaques acknowledging the donation from the Arden Hills Foundation, are proposed along the City’s trail system at the following general locations: 1) Cummings Park north of athletic fields, 2) public trail northeast of Colleen Avenue, 3) Perry Park near the dog park, and 4) Hazelnut Park.
