Except as indicated, all items were <br />approved unanimously by a 5–0 <br />vote. <br />January 25, 2021 City Council <br />Meeting <br />• Approved plans and <br />specifications and ordered <br />advertisement for bids for the <br />2021 Pavement Management <br />Program Street and Utility <br />Improvement Project for the <br />Hazelnut Park residential <br />neighborhood. <br />• Accepted a donation from <br />the Arden Hills Foundation <br />in the amount of $2,479.00 <br />for installation of four park <br />benches. <br />• Held a public hearing and <br />approved an application to <br />release an easement and <br />Conditional Use Permit from <br />Lot 2 of 2 Pine Tree North. <br />Lake Johanna Fire Department <br />has purchased Lot 2 for a future <br />fire station. <br />• Held a public hearing and <br />approved an application for <br />a Conditional Use Permit, <br />Site Plan, and Zoning Code <br />Amendment for a multi-family <br />senior living facility located <br />at 2 Pine Tree Drive, Lot 1 <br />adjacent to Minnesota State <br />Highway 51. The property will <br />be owned and managed by New <br />Perspective Senior Living. The <br />application for a Planned Unit <br />Development was tabled to <br />the Feb. 8, 2021 City Council <br />Meeting. <br />February 8, 2021 City Council <br />Meeting <br />• Accepted the resignation of <br />the Public Works Director/City <br />Engineer Todd Blomstrom, <br />as of Feb. 5, 2021. Appointed <br />David Swearingen to the <br />position of Interim Public <br />Works Director; David will also <br />continue in his current position <br />as Assistant City Engineer. <br />• Approved professional <br />services agreement with SRF <br />Consulting for the design of the <br />Mound View High School Trail <br />Project, extending from County <br />Road E2 to Mounds View High <br />School. The proposed project <br />would involve construction of <br />two trail segments: segment 1 <br />along the west side of Snelling <br />Avenue North (CSAH 76) <br />from the intersection of County <br />Road E2 (CSAH 73) to Lake <br />Valentine Road; and segment <br />2 along Lake Valentine Road <br />from Snelling Avenue North <br />(CSAH 76) to the south parking <br />lot at Mounds View High <br />School. <br />• Approved plans and <br />specifications and ordering <br />advertisement for bids for the <br />Hamline Avenue improvement <br />for pedestrian crosswalk <br />including installation of <br />raised center medians along <br />Hamline Avenue at Wyncrest <br />Court and south of Indian <br />Oaks Circle to provide safety <br />improvements for pedestrians <br />crossing. The project also <br />includes an unrelated drainage <br />improvement project along <br />Shorewood Drive to address <br />a local flooding issue that has <br />persisted for several years. <br />• Approved Planned Unit <br />Development at 2 Pine Tree <br />Drive Lot 1 for 192,390 square <br />foot, four-story multi-family <br />senior living facility on site, <br />previously tabled from the Jan. <br />25, 2021 City Council meeting. <br />For a complete and detailed <br />listing of recent City Council <br />action, please review the meeting <br />minutes on the City website at <br />cityofardenhills.org and click on <br />View Agendas & Minutes. <br />Thank You to Arden Hills <br />Foundation <br />Thank you, Arden Hills <br />Foundation, for the recent <br />donation of four park benches <br />that will enhance our City’s <br />trail system. The benches, with <br />plaques acknowledging the <br />donation from the Arden Hills <br />Foundation, are proposed along <br />the City’s trail system at the <br />following general locations: 1) <br />Cummings Park north of athletic <br />fields, 2) public trail northeast <br />of Colleen Avenue, 3) Perry <br />Park near the dog park, and 4) <br />Hazelnut Park. <br />The Foundation accepts tax- <br />deductible gifts to further <br />its mission: to connect the <br />generosity of people to <br />the evolving needs of the <br />community.
