CONSENT ITEM—7C <br /> ,fi` DEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: March 22, 2021 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> FROM: David Swearingen, Interim Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: 2021 Street Maintenance Program <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $250,000 $ 89,039.10 Street Maintenance Fund <br /> Council Should Consider <br /> Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> • Resolution 2021-015, recommending that the City of Coon Rapids Award a Contract <br /> for the 2021 Street Maintenance Program. <br /> All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> In 2005, a Joint Powers Agreement(JPA)for Traffic Markings, Street Sweeping, Crack Sealing, <br /> Screening, and Seal Coating was executed by the cities of Coon Rapids, Andover, Brooklyn <br /> Center, Columbia Heights, and Fridley. Since 2005, six additional cities have joined the joint <br /> powers agreement(Ham Lake, East Bethel, Anoka, Mahtomedi, Circle Pines and Mounds <br /> View). On December 11, 2017, the City Council authorized an amendment to the JPA to include <br /> the City of Arden Hills. <br /> The City of Coon Rapids solicited bids in February 2021 for sealcoating,pavement markings, <br /> crack sealing and fog sealing on behalf of the member cities. Bids were opened on March 12, <br /> 2021 and summarized in the bid tabulation provided in Attachment A. The program costs for <br /> Arden Hills is summarized on Attachment B based on estimated quantities provided to the City <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
