When I first learned about this project, I was thrilled at the possibility of a
trail on Snelling. We have two small children and a dog, we walk and ride bikes along
Snelling on a daily basis. While I usually feel safe, speeding cars and lack of visibility where
the road curves on Snelling makes me nervous.
The presentation made me question the trail design though. I like the wide shoulder that runs
along our property line on Snelling, a vast reduction of that shoulder - bringing cars closer to
the yards along the east side would make me even more nervous. I think I would be very
happy with Version 2, a wider west shoulder and safety improvements along the shoulders. I
also just wanted to thank the City for including Cummings Ln on this project, our street
desperately needed it.
Thank you,
Emily Peterson
651-373-3403
