Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6B <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: May 10, 2021 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: David Swearingen, Interim Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Professional Services Amendment for Hamline Avenue Crosswalks and Shorewood <br />Drive Drainage Improvements <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $210,000 $231,152.70 PIR, Ramsey County Participation <br /> & Surface Water <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Professional services amendment with HR Green in the amount of $17,536 for the Hamline <br />Crosswalks and Shorewood Drive Drainage Improvements. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />On February 25, 2019, the City Council approved a professional services contract with HR Green <br />for Hamline Avenue Crosswalk Improvements. On February 24, 2020, the City Council approved <br />a professional services agreement with HR Green for the design of the City Hall Parking Lot & <br />Shorewood Drive Drainage Improvements which would also include the Hamline Avenue <br />Crosswalks all in one plan set. On December 14, 2020, the City Council amended the professional <br />services agreement to split the plans into two separate plans, one of which is the presented <br />Hamline Avenue Crosswalks and Shorewood Drive Drainage Improvements. <br /> <br />With the recent departure of the former Arden Hills Public Works Director and the Assistant City <br />Engineer no longer available, City’s staff capacity is limited compared to the initial proposal by <br />HR Green which included time spent by City staff.
