2 <br /> <br /> <br />Prepares and makes daily bank deposits. <br /> <br />Updates daily cash balance spreadsheets. <br /> <br />Processes adjustments when needed for misapplied receipts. <br /> <br />Manages accounts receivable to ensure that billings are sent timely and revenue is collected. <br /> <br />Gathers information sufficient to generate sundry account receivable billings. <br /> <br />Oversees false alarm tracking, notification and billing. <br /> <br />Follows up and collects on past due balances. <br /> <br />Processes adjustments when needed for cancelled invoices, misapplied receipts. <br /> <br />Assists with the audit; prepares audit work papers for utility billing, accounts receivable, cash receipts, deferred <br />revenue and intergovernmental revenue. <br /> <br />Maintains the general and payroll ledgers. <br /> <br />Provides back up support to the accounting analyst with payroll and accounts receivable functions. <br /> <br />Prepares and transmits all special assessment rolls to be certified to Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Provides detail on all assessment searches. <br /> <br />Prepares letters and reports as requested. <br /> <br />Provides assistance/information to other departments when requested. <br /> <br />Provides phone back up to general callers. <br /> <br />Provides backup support to other Finance area activities. <br /> <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br />Associates/Technical degree with coursework in accounting, or related field and considerable experience <br />accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. <br /> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Thorough knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and routine accounting policies, practices and procedures; <br />general knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods; general knowledge of office procedures, <br />practices and equipment; ability to make arithmetical computations and post accounts; ability to operate a <br />variety of office machines; ability to deal effectively with vendors, outside contacts and associates. <br /> <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires repetitive <br />motions, frequently requires sitting, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel and <br />occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, <br />reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal <br />communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is
