Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: City Hall Parking Lot Improvements – Construction Contract Award <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Sources: <br /> $300,000.00 $295,241 Equipment & Building Fund <br /> Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Resolution 2022-016 Accepting Bid and Awarding the City Hall Parking Lot <br />Improvements Contract to Bituminous Roadways, Inc. in the amount of $233,650. <br /> <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />The 2022 – 2026 Capital Improvement Program identifies improvements of the Arden Hills City <br />Hall Parking Lot scheduled for construction in the year 2022. The City Council authorized <br />preparation of construction plans in February 2020 and had subsequent discussions regarding the <br />project in September 2020 and December 2020. On February 14, 2022, pursuant of Resolution <br />2022-007, plans and specifications were approved by the City Council and bids were opened on <br />Wednesday, March 9, 2022. <br /> <br />The proposed project includes installation and repairs to ADA concrete sidewalk and ped ramps, <br />drainage improvements, security camera and lighting upgrades, and a new bituminous paved <br />surface. This project also includes installation of additional conduit and handhole adjacent to a <br />parking stall for a “future” EV charging station if desired at a later date. The anticipated schedule <br />will allow for construction starting this summer and a final construction completion date is <br />August 30, 2022. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 2B <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />
