The Commission proceeded with discussing some ideas for Mr. Johnson and Mr. Larson to take <br /> back to the Task Force. The ideas/suggestions were as follows: <br /> • Develop a partnership with the schools and have them use the wetland areas for <br /> educational usage. <br /> • Explore ways to develop trails up to the high school area. <br /> • Involve the Ramsey County Sheriff in making the park accessible for policing and <br /> enforcement issues. <br /> • Make sure plan coincides with the Arden Hills Comprehensive Plan for Parks and <br /> Trails. <br /> The Commission expressed thanks to Jim Johnson and Gregg Larson for their efforts in the <br /> Tony Schmidt Task Force. <br /> RESIDENTIAL MEETING <br /> Ms. Walsh explained that the meeting was intended to get ideas from residents on the Freeway <br /> Park and Lindey's Park areas. <br /> Ms. Walsh also indicated that she would like to ask the residents about ideas for renaming the • <br /> Lindey's Park area. <br /> It was mentioned that the City could hold a contest (put in newsletter) to rename the park. Ms. <br /> Walsh said she would like to get the playstructure in this summer whether it is at Freeway or <br /> Lindey's Park. <br /> COUNCIL REPORT <br /> The City Council approved the sale of 3.05 million dollars of General Obligation Tax <br /> Increment Bonds for the Gateway Business District. <br /> Work has begun to clear for construction of roads in the Gateway Business District area. <br /> The City Council met with Tony Bennett to discuss Highway 96 and the proposed County trail. <br /> Councilmember Keim indicated that the City did not get anywhere with their discussion with <br /> Mr. Bennett about the safety issues concerned with the trail. <br /> Councilmember Keim indicated that construction of Highway 96 between 35W and Highway <br /> 10 is slated for 2000 and the section between Highway 10 to Lexington for 2002. <br />
