MINUTES
CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA
PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, 1997
6:00 P.M.
CITY HALL
CALL TO ORDER
Lynette Kreidler called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Present were Chair Lynette Kreidler, Megan Ricke, Don Messerly, Dorothy McClung,
Anita Larson, Jim Johnson, Cindy Walsh; Parks and Recreation Director and Council Liaison;
Susan Keim.
Absent were Tracy Petersen; Program Supervisor, Mary Robinson and Lou Speggen.
APPROVE MINUTES
• Dorothy McClung made a motion to approve the June 24, 1997, Minutes which was seconded
by Megan Ricke and passed unanimously.
COUNCIL REPORT
Councilmember Keim reported that the Gateway Business District is running into a few snags.
They have found out that the soils are very poor. The excavating costs are higher than
anticipated. This is delaying the building process. The land transfers have not been finalized.
The building of 14th street is on hold.
The City is in the process of reviewing proposals for engineering services. We may select a
different engineering firm for future services. The City is upset by the plans that were drawn
up for the Bethel sewer odor. The plans did not reflect the current conditions.
The City is pending litigation with Midwest Asphalt for the construction of County Road F.
HIGHWAY 96 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The County seems unwilling to discuss options for the trail location along Highway 96.
Apparently, they do not see the safety concerns that have been identified by the City as being
legitimate. Staff and Council continue to work with County officials to develop a safe trail for
all to use.
•
