s <br /> MINUTES <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1996 <br /> 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. <br /> ARMY RESERVE CENTER <br /> LEXINGTON AVENUE AND HIGHWAY 96 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairperson, Megan Ricke called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present were Chair Megan Ricke, Don Messerly, Dorothy McClung, Lynette Kreidler, <br /> Anita Larson, Mary Robinson, Council Liaison; Susan Keim, Cindy Walsh; Parks & <br /> Recreation Director, and Tracy Petersen; Program Supervisor. <br /> Louis Speggen was present for a brief period of time to inform the Committee that he <br /> would not be available to serve on the Committee over the next three (3) or four (4) <br /> months, due to personal conflicts. However, Mr. Speggen will remain on the Committee <br /> • and will be present when he can. <br /> APPROVE MINUTES <br /> Minutes recorded by Julie Tostenson. There was a change to the November 26, 1996 <br /> Minutes, the change is on Page 3, the sentence should read Arbys's/Sbarro Planning case <br /> was postponed instead of withdrawn. There was a Motion by Mary Robinson to approve <br /> the Minutes as amended and seconded by Don Messerly. <br /> COUNCIL REPORT <br /> Susan Keim stated that the Council adopted the 1997 budget. There was a Public <br /> Hearing for the 1997 Public Hearing Street Improvements, North Snelling Avenue and <br /> Hamline Avenue residents do not want their streets improved. The City under estimated <br /> the costs for the 1997 Street Improvements, even if North Snelling Avenue and Hamline <br /> Avenue may not be done in 1997. The street improvements should start at the end of <br /> May or the beginning of June and be completed by the end of September. The Council <br /> discussed the speed limit on McClung Drive. The Council is trying to look at the <br /> Assessment Policy. The Council is in the process of discussing the Committee's re- <br /> structuring. However, there will be no changes to the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> • 1 <br />
