Chairman Sand moved and seconded by Mark Labine to give Mr. Nichols until Spring to <br /> repair the vegetation in the open space, remove his utility shed, and fencing around <br /> the garden. Motion carried. <br /> COUNCIL REPORT Councilmember Dale Hicks reported. City's Truth in Taxation <br /> Hearing was held on November 18. There will be no increase in <br /> taxes in 1992. Therefore, a small group of citizens attended the meeting. The <br /> citizens expressed no major concerns relating to 1992 taxes. <br /> The Mayor and Council are discussing potential City use of the new Training Center <br /> with Army Reserve Officials. Little progress has been made regarding use of the <br /> Center. <br /> PROGRAM REPCRT Cynthia Severtson reported she is continuing efforts to develop <br /> programs for Chippewa Middle School. The school is somewhat reluctant but great <br /> strides have been made. She will continue her efforts in obtaining programs at <br /> Chippewa Middle School. <br /> Ice skating lessons start in January. Session have been added due to the increase <br /> in numbers last season. <br /> A number of ski trips and various other trips have been planned for children during <br /> vacation days frcgn school. See the brochure for details. <br /> The Winter Brochure is out and will be delivered this week. <br /> . I am running a few programs at St. Odelia this winter. The principal is very <br /> pleased we are offering after school programs for their students. <br /> Please feel free to call Cindy if you have ccunents or questions on any programs. <br /> Ccomittee members expressed interest in developing a Parks and <br /> NEW BUSINESS Recreation Department Mission Statement. Buckley presented <br /> Mission Statements from the Plymouth, Roseville, Maplewood, Inver <br /> Clove Heights, and New Brighton Parks and Recreation Departments. <br /> Arden Hills Parks and Recreation Department goals and objectives were also presented <br /> to the Cc mnittee. Committee members are asked to review the statements and be <br /> prepared to write a Mission Statement at their January meeting. <br /> Buckley stated there will be no Ccarnmittee meeting in December. He thanks the <br /> members for serving on the C.caimLittee in 1991 and urged them to continue serving on <br /> the CamYnittee in 1992. Ccmi.ttee members will be contacted by phone to poll their <br /> interest in 1992. <br /> ADJOURN Meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. <br />
