Park Minutes, April 23 , 1991 Page 2 <br /> The committee thoroughly discussed stewardship <br />� of a <br /> P park fund <br /> (keeping principal intact and just spending interest trail <br /> development � �• nt and <br /> P paving versus natural surface; internal <br /> trails/interconnecting trails; tennis court and basketball courts. <br /> Alan Montgomery moved/seconded by Megan Ricke, that Parks Committee <br /> recommend that 1991 improvements include color coating/overlay, <br /> repair hockey lights and trail benches, three perimeter trails, for <br /> a total of $88,849. Floral perimeter could be scheduled in 1992 if <br /> Council was uncomfortable in spending the $88,849 . <br /> Mark Labine moved a friendly amendment that the Park Committee <br /> prepare a financial plan that would include state grants, corporate <br /> donations, private donations, etc. when discussing the 1992 park <br /> improvement budget, Megan Ricke seconded the amendment. Motion and <br /> amendment carried 7-1. <br /> Dave Sand read Joe Peterson ' s letter regarding the sale of his lot <br /> off Fernwood cul-de-sac. The lot is part of the stormwater holding <br /> pond area and appears to be unbuildable. The north border is dry <br /> and could be used as a west access to Ingerson. <br /> Mark Labine moved/seconded by Megan Ricke, that Buckley visit with <br /> the adjacent property owner, Harold Alexander and Mary Lou Ceran to <br /> determine their interest in purchasing the lot for wetland and the <br /> possibility of an easement for Ingerson Park access. Property <br /> • appraisal should be done to determine the value of the lot and <br /> whether the lot is buildable. Motion carried. <br /> GATEWAY <br /> GARDENS Buckley reported that Eagle Scout Bob Billman will <br /> be coordinating the planting and maintenance of the <br /> gateway gardens this summer. Letters were sen <br /> t to <br /> businesses, churches se <br /> rvice clubs, to recruit <br /> volunteers to helpthe scouts <br /> uts maintain the gardens. <br /> No volunteers to date. <br /> Property owners along County Road E are very <br /> enthusias <br /> tic about continuing <br /> the flower beds this <br /> year. Saturday,aturday, May 18 is the big planting day for <br /> the beds. <br /> ARBOR DAY Over 50 bo scouts girl Y rl scouts/g have expressed p sed <br /> interest in planting trees and cleaning parks on <br /> Arbor Day, May 4 . <br /> PROGRAM RPT Severtson reported that spring and summer program <br /> fliers are in the mail and passed out through the <br /> schools .
