Page 2 January 22 , 1991 Park Minutes <br /> 1991 PARK & TRAIL Buckley reviewed the 1991 proposed park and <br /> . DEVELOPMENT trail development. A large majority of the <br /> development <br /> asphalt companies. Theeconomy indicates othat c o thiswillsbeoa <br /> lean spring for contractors. Early bid projects could attract <br /> variable bids. Schedule: <br /> - Submit 1991 development recommendation to Council - late <br /> February or early March <br /> - Prepare specifications - advertise for bids in March <br /> - Start construction in April or May <br /> The committee reviewed the trail development listing estimated <br /> cost proposed trail development. It would cost approximately <br /> $115 , 216 if all the listed trails were asphalted. <br /> Committee asked Buckley to provide individual master plans for <br /> Cummings, Floral, Hazelnut and Chatham Parks. <br /> Prepare an overlay of proposed trails to see if they would <br /> connect to Ramsey County short and long range trail development. <br /> Committee asked for input from Ingerson neighborhood at next Park <br /> meeting to discuss tennis court construction and securing west <br /> • access to Ingerson Park. <br /> PROGRAM REPORT: Severtson reviewed the 1990 Spring, Summer and <br /> Fall programs with the committee. 18 new <br /> program activities have been offered. Some of the new <br /> afterschool activities are: magic, cartoon drawing, <br /> storytelling/dramatics, acting, ceramics, candle makin <br /> adult/senior trip. 2 , 806 individuals have registered forcthose , <br /> activities, with $41, 730 user fees collected. <br /> Severtson mentioned that the class fees were increased by 25% for <br /> the Winter and Spring programs. There was some concern that <br /> increased fees will prevent some low income children and <br /> particularly families with multiple participants, from <br /> participating. <br /> It was suggested that a program fund be established to help <br /> subsidize lower income families. This could be advertised <br /> through the Town Crier, etc. <br /> ADJOURN Meeting adjourned at 9 : 52 PM. <br /> • <br />
