CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING <br /> MINUTES, APRIL 24, 1990 <br /> . Call to Order <br /> The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Park and Recreation <br /> Commission was called to order at 7 : 40 P.M. by Chair David Sand. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present: David Sand, Mark Magers, Don Messerly and Alan <br /> Montgomery. <br /> Absent <br /> Keith Enrooth, Pattie Green, Dorothy McClung, and Tom Mulcahy. <br /> Also Present <br /> Council Paul Malone, Program Supervisor Cindy Severtson and Parks <br /> Director John Buckley. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Minutes of the March 27 meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> Council Report Councilmember Malone reported: <br /> - Kem Milling buildings will be removed and property cleaned up <br /> during April. Cost of demolition is $100, 000. <br /> - Opus Corp. will be constructing the new Group Health Medical <br /> Clinic. Park dedication for this subdivision will be <br /> • negotiated between $20-$80, 000. <br /> - The development of the Army Reserve Training Center on the <br /> Arsenal has stimulated the improvement of Lexington Avenue <br /> from TH 96 north to County Road G-2 . Cost of these <br /> improvements will be shared with Shoreview. Arden Hills' <br /> share is $100, 000. The bike path proposed for the west side <br /> of Lexington was not included in the Lexington Avenue <br /> projext. Cost of the pathway was $35, 000. <br /> - Finance Committee and Council are presently working on an <br /> assessment policy for financing City street improvements. <br /> 1990 Trail Developments <br /> $25, 000 is budgeted for trail improvements in 1990. Council <br /> approved having the City Engineer prepare specifications and bids <br /> for asphalting an 8' wide trail from Stowe to County Road E. 13 <br /> contractors submitted bids at the May 9 bid opening. Bids ranged <br /> from a low of $11,438 to a high of $17, 242 . The project is <br /> scheduled for Council approval on May 14 . <br /> Spring Program Report <br /> Cindy Severtson reported: <br /> There has been a strong interest in the new after school <br />
