POSITION RESPONSIBILITY DESCRIPTION <br /> DATE: DECEMBER, 1989 <br /> FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATION: PARKS & RECREATION <br /> POSITION TITLE: PROGRAM SUPERVISOR <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: <br /> To develop and administer City-wide recreation programs. <br /> MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: <br /> Planning, implementing, supervision, and evaluation of City-wide <br /> recreation programs. <br /> Provision of assistance in the preparation of budget requests for the <br /> department. <br /> Provision of information on department activities, policies, and <br /> procedures to the general public. <br /> • Performance of any other duties as directed or apparent. <br /> QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> Must have a bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field. <br /> Should have some supervisory experience in recreation programming. <br /> SUPERVISION/ACCOUNTABILITY: <br /> This position provides general supervision for all part-time <br /> recreation employees and has general accountability to the Director of <br /> Parks and Recreation. <br /> STAFF AND PUBLIC CONTACT: <br /> Frequent contact with staff from other departments. Extensive contact <br /> with the general public. <br />
