January 23, 1990 Park Minutes <br /> - Resurfacing hard courts at Arden Oaks, Arden Manor, Hazelnut and <br /> Valentine. <br /> - Hazelnut Trail (Glenpaul to Stowe) was blacktopped. <br /> - New bridges were constructed at trail between Cummings and Floral Park <br /> and between Perry and Chatham. <br /> - New signing and benches were placed on the trail. <br /> Park projects on hold: <br /> - Round Lake park development on hold until entire Round Lake development <br /> is finalized. <br /> - Construction of soccer field on City property east of public works bldg. <br /> is placed on hold. <br /> 1990 PROPOSED $234,500 was budgeted in 1990 for park development. <br /> PARK DEV. $175,000 was allocated for Arsenal athletic fields. <br /> 1990 expenditure can be revised to $59,000. Trail <br /> development and improvements will take top priority in 1990. <br /> 1990 GOALS Buckley suggested that the Parks Committee sponsor a <br /> City-wide beautificatio:: [:L:ogram durin;, 1990. The <br /> • program could include: <br /> - Continuance of the annual yard beautification recognition program. <br /> - Expand Arbor Day celebration to include providing free seedlings to <br /> interested Arden Hills families. <br /> - Work with businesses along County Road E to plant flowers and brighten <br /> up "Main Street" in the City. <br /> - Plant flowers along the heavily traveled streets and avenues. <br /> - Plant flowers at each City park site. <br /> MISC/NEW BUSINESS Mark Magers expressed an interest in being appointed <br /> to the Park Committee. The members recommended his <br /> appointment. <br /> Since the 4th Tuesday in February (February 27) is Precinct Caucus Night <br /> and no evening meetings may be conducted that evening, the next Park <br /> Commission meeting has been set for Tuesday, February 20, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 9: 10 P.M. <br />
