CALL TO CRDER: <br /> The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Parks and Recreation Cco mission was called <br /> to order at 7:37 P.M. by Chairman David Sand. <br /> ROLL CALL. <br /> Present: Chair Sand, Bill Guelker, Lynette Kreidler, Mark Labine, Mark Literski, <br /> Mark Magers, Don Messerly, Alan Montgomery and Megan Ricke. <br /> Absent: Mary Gillies, and David Moberg. <br /> Also Present: Council Liaison, Dale Hicks; Program Supervisor, Cynthia Severtson; <br /> Park Director, John Buckley; and resident, David Cathcart. <br /> APPROVAL CF HnX]TES <br /> The March 24, 1992, Minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> CAn1S CF OFFICE <br /> Counci]member Hicks lead new CaTmlission member, Mark Literski in the Oath of Office. <br /> COUNCIL REPCRT: <br /> Councilman Hicks Reported: <br /> Council is working with the regional transit board to establish a circular <br /> bus route through the City of Arden Hills. The proposed bus route would <br /> service Presbyterian Homes, Northwestern and Bethel Colleges, Arden Hills <br /> Townhouses and the Arden Hills business district. <br /> The Council agreed to contract BRW Architects to proceed with Phase I of the <br /> new City Hall and Maintenance facilities. <br /> C.ouncilmembers and Staff met with officials from the Army Reserve Training <br /> Center and toured the center's Administrative building. The Army Reserve <br /> stated that the center could be used by comY mty groups, when usage does not <br /> conflict with the Army's schedule. <br /> PROGRAM REPCRr: <br /> Cynthia Severtson reported on new programs: <br /> Acting Workshop (K-2 and 3-5) <br /> Youth Racquet Ball lessons <br /> Safety Camp (with Shoreview, North Oaks and Ramsey County Sheriff) <br /> Fastpitch girls softball (10 & under, 14 & under, 16 & under) <br /> Boys slowpitch (grades 6-8) <br /> Expanded Swimming (to include Beginners) <br /> Expanded Tennis <br /> MISSICN S ATEVENr• <br /> • 0co mission members David Sand, Mark Magers, Mark Labine and John Buckley met on <br /> Tuesday, April 21, to prepare a Mission Statement for the Parks and Recreation <br /> ctu mission consideration. <br /> Arden Hills Parks and Recreation Department Mission Statement. <br />
