It will have a section for city news, and <br /> separate section for Park and Recreation Programs <br /> Spring Program flier will be in the mail by mid-April <br /> - Additional program fliers will be distributed through the schools <br /> MRPA PARK CCHMSSIC K SEMINAR: <br /> Labim reported on the MRPA Park Commission Seminar held Saturday, February 15th <br /> at Crystal Ccmnunity Center. The Seminar provided the opportunity for Commission <br /> members to share mutual interest and concerns. <br /> ABAIMCNED RAIIMAD GRADES RESSa,itrIC N: <br /> Chairman Sand read a letter from Friends of the Parks and Trails President, Neil <br /> Franey. President Franey is asking that Park and Recreation Commissions and <br /> Councils support a resolution to keep abandoned railroad grades in public use as <br /> trails and corridors. <br /> Labine moved, seconded by Guelker, that the Park Commission participate in the <br /> resolution to preserve railroad grades in public use as right-away corridors. <br /> • BUSINESS <br /> Arbor Day - scheduled for Saturday, April 25th, 10:00 AM to Noon. <br /> Flower Garden - Breakfast and Planting, County Road E and Gateway Gardens, Saturday, <br /> May 16th, 8:00 AM to Noon. <br /> Street Banners - County Road E Businesses are very interested in placing street <br /> Banners along the street. They feel the banners will be decorative and identify <br /> 'Tcwntown." <br /> LMME LAKES LITTLE LEAGUE: <br /> E <br /> Little Lakes Little League is experiencing a strong registration this year. over <br /> 1200 players have registered to date. The League is encouraging all Park <br /> Departments to: <br /> - Keep the fields in playable condition (Arden Hills was wed for <br /> their good field maintenance) . <br /> - Install overhangs on backstops at Floral, Royal Hills, Perry #1, Perry <br /> #4. <br /> - Install break-away bases when possible. <br /> - Provide safety fences in front of player's benches. <br /> Little Lakes Little League stated that they would assist in financing some of these <br /> improvements. <br /> . Montgomery stated he would be willing to contact the St. Paul Turners for money. <br /> Would like a list of improvements to discuss with the Turners. <br />
