MQN[= CIF UM ARDW HE TB PARRS & REMUN ION CMMMM, 1-28-92 <br /> Page Twq <br /> COUNCM REPCIRP <br /> Councilmembex Dale Hicks reported. council denied James Nichols' request for <br /> purchasing additional property in Chatham Open Area. Council will be selecting an <br /> Architect to design the new City Hall. There will be some limited space for program <br /> use. Sue Schroeder has resigned as Bditor of the City Town Crier. Consultants are <br /> being selected to design a new City Newsletter. St. Mary's Church and St. Paul <br /> Turner's Charitable Gambling license have been renewed for 1992. All charities are <br /> committed to contribute 50 percent of their net gambling profits to groups or <br /> projects in the Arden Hills Trade Area. St. Mary's Orthodox Church is scheduled to <br /> give $4,000 to Arden Hills Parks. St. Paul Tuner's m-ist contribute $20,000 to the <br /> Trade Area by March, 1992, to comply with their license renewal agreement. <br /> Committee asked that the list of licensed charitable agencies operating in Aden <br /> Hills be secured. The Parks committee would like to actively solicit these <br /> charitable groups for contributions for Park improvements and programs. <br /> 1992 PARR <br /> Buckley reviewed the Park improvement projects scheduled for 1992. <br /> Perry Park: $9,500 Budgeted. <br /> Regrading softball fields 3 and 4. Timing is very iuportant for this project. <br /> Removing these fields from use this sLmmker would greatly effect the Youth Softball, <br /> • Youth Baseball, and adult softball programs. This project will have to be scheduled <br /> in the fall. <br /> Valentine Park: $3,500 Budgeted. <br /> This park is also under water during west season. Storm water drains into Valentine <br /> Park. The open drainage ditch on the south and east border is scheduled to be <br /> regraded. Ccmittee suggested that installation of drainage culverts should be <br /> considered for resolving the drainage problem. <br /> Backstop Hoods: $2,800 <br /> Backstop hoods are scheduled for fields used by Little Lakes Little League teams. <br /> Fields are Cummings, Floral, Perry #1, and Perry #4. <br /> Gateway Flower Gardens: $1,200 <br /> Plants will be needed for the nine Gateway Flower Garden - committee suggested that <br /> perennials should be considered for scu e of the bids. <br /> Trails - c mmings/Floral Trail: $26,523 <br /> Grading, paving, new bridge is scheduled this summer; $8,000 is budgeted for <br /> smoothing and regarding some trails in the Briarknoll area. <br /> Labine moved and seconded by Ricke that Park Cmnittee recommend the Council <br /> instruct Maier Stewart and Associates (Engineers) to provide a feasibility report <br /> for: <br /> CCIrY`1II /FLDRAL TRAIL GRADING AND PAVING <br /> Motion carried. Trail grading for trails with grass surface in the tc4mhouLse area <br /> and Briarknoll area. <br />
