• v. MINUTES OF OCTOBER 26, 1993 MEETING <br /> 1. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by chair Dave Sand. Roll was taken. <br /> 2. Minutes of the last meeting of 9/28/93 were reviewed and approved. <br /> 3. Denny Probst presented a Council report: <br /> • City Hall being remodeled. Main chamber room being divided into staff <br /> offices and small conference room. Council will meet at NB City Hall until <br /> further notice (Monday nights) at no charge. <br /> • TCAAP walk on Saturday, 10/23, was very successful. Cindy estimates <br /> approximately 1,200 people there. POSE (Preserve Open Space <br /> Environment) was there trying to encourage maintaining Arsenal property as <br /> open space. <br /> • Access to Arsenal for construction of City Hall/Public Works facility is still <br /> being pursued. National Guard is assisting with congressional contacts. City <br /> is pressing both County and Army National Guard as well as having public <br /> meetings with Arden Hills citizens to explain efforts. Minimum of 12 to 2 <br /> • years before any hope of breaking ground. <br /> • Flower Power certificates were handed out to citizen volunteers on Monday, <br /> 10/25, who planted and tended gardens at City "Gateway" areas. <br /> • Future work session with Council scheduled for Thursday, 11/18, to discuss <br /> roles, makeup and representation and goals for 1994. Location to be <br /> confirmed and members notified. <br /> 4. 1994 Park development and 1993 activities: <br /> • Discussed outcomes of 1993 strategic planning session with Council: <br /> • Spending interest only vs. some capital together with interest. <br /> • Adult softball brought in $17,000 profit. <br /> • Possible expenditures for 1994: <br /> • Valentine Warming House. Needs replacement. Cost approximately <br /> $15,000 - $16,000. <br />
