• FLOWER POWER <br /> Date: May 15, 1993 <br /> Contact Person: Cindy, Kevin and Renee' <br /> Duties: Send letter to all volunteers and local <br /> businesses interested and form a sub-committee <br /> to contact these parties. Normal list of <br /> volunteers are: Boy scouts, Girl scouts, <br /> previous volunteers. Marge from the release <br /> program thru the Sheriff's Office has already <br /> been contacted(Kevin). Maps and names are <br /> ready and in the file. Tom & Cathy Gosrud <br /> from Arden Hills Nursery are the flower <br /> providers who have been used in the past <br /> because of providing the flowers and providing <br /> the layout of the planting(Kevin). Business <br /> Owners pay for their own flowers (Cindy <br /> followup). <br /> These duties need to be started the first part of <br /> April with letters for contacts. <br /> Itinerary: Pancake Breakfast at Ramada Inn is normally <br /> . set up for that morning starting at 9:00 am for <br /> volunteers who participate(Cindy). <br /> SUMMER CREW <br /> Date: Mid April or early May. <br /> Primary Contact Person: Dave Winkel <br /> Hiring: 3 Seasonal employees have been identified with <br /> one possibly at $7/hour($14,000 budget), Jeff <br /> Schlief because of his background having been <br /> with the City for the past 10 years. The rest of <br /> the seasonal park employees are paid $5.50/per <br /> hour. Jeremy Masso out of Hamline has been <br /> used. Normally college students are used for <br /> summer employment. <br /> Recruitment efforts should be made thru the <br /> local colleges (Cindy), also Softball <br /> Coordinator. <br /> DISEASED TREES <br /> Contact Person: Dave Winkel will handle this program on site. <br /> The bids need to be distributed and last year's <br /> contract updated. Bids open April 8 with April <br /> 12 the decision made. <br />
