There was a change to the October 22, 1996
Minutes, the change is on Page 3, the sentence should read the trail south of Highway 96
instead of the trail along Highway 96. There was a Motion by Don Messerly to approve
the Minutes as amended and seconded by Mary Robinson.
PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT - DWAYNE STAFFORD
Mr. Stafford gave the Committee a brief introduction on his background. Mr. Stafford
briefly listed some of the duties of the Public Works Department; such as, rebuilding
manholes, flushing watermains, snow plowing etc.
The Committee briefly discussed with Mr. Stafford the issue of plowing trails and
sidewalks.
Mr. Stafford stated that the City would be asking a lot of residents to contribute money
towards the trails when they are not even going to benefit from using the trails.
The Public Works Department would need more equipment, to allow for them to plow
the trails and the sidewalks. The Public Works Department would also have to hire
another person to help out with the extra work load.
• 1
