There is a 694/I35W Corridor Coalition, the Cities that are involved are Shoreview,
• Mounds View, Roseville, New Brighton and Arden Hills. This is to make sure that the
35W North area issues are addressed.
The Arbys/Sbarro Planning Case has been withdrawn. The code requires fastfood
restaurants to be 1,320 square feet from another restaurant, unless otherwise defined as a
foodcourt. Arbys/Sbarro does not meet this code, due to the fact Burger King is about
700 feet away from the proposed building.
Mr. O'Meara is not willing to give the City the piece of property to allow for access to
the trails. Mr. O'Meara would like the City to pay the back taxes on the property.
There was a motion made by Megan Ricke to renew the motion to the Council to try and
persuade Mr. O'Meara to giving the City the property, even if the City has to pay the
back taxes, Mary Robinson seconded the Motion. Motion carried 3-0.
1997 DAY IN THE PARK
The Committee decided on the date, time and location for the 1997 Day in the Park. The
information is as follows:
June 7, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at City Hall highlighting the new trail.
• There appears to be $1000 in the 1997 budget for the Day in the Park.
The following is a list of activities that the Committee would like to have at the Day in
the Park:
Concessions, caricatures, face painting, clowns, entertainment, soccer or softball clinic at
Royal Hills or Floral Park where the trail ends, scavenger hunt along the trail, Mounds
View High School Band or Orchestra playing.
TCAAP PARK PLANNING
The Committee reviewed the previous Multi-City Plan and discussed in general about
some revisions.
