5. To continue to aggressively work with Ramsey County towards getting the <br /> • necessary improvements completed to Tony Schmidt Park. <br /> 6. To revise 5 Year Plan as necessary, including the Gateway Garden Plan. <br /> The Committee needs to continue to revise and think of new goals for 1997. They have worked <br /> on all of the above areas, but some will need to be revised for the 1997 goals. <br /> DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br /> Program Report <br /> Tracy stated that the Winter Parks and Recreation Brochure is due out at the end of <br /> November. <br /> There are a lot of school vacations for the kids in December and February. The City of <br /> Arden Hills Parks and Recreation has planned to have vacation day event trips on most of <br /> the appropriate school vacation days. The vacation day events are done in conjunction <br /> with Mounds View and Vadnais Heights. <br /> The week of MEA vacation there were two vacation day trips offered by the Parks and <br /> Recreation Department. There was a good turnout for both of the trips. <br /> The Halloween Pumpkin Hunt will be on Friday, October 25, 1996. <br /> • The Ice Rink season is g underway derwa for the 1996/1997 season. The Ice Rinks will be <br /> g Y <br /> closed on Christmas Day this year. It was asked if there are any skate at your own risk <br /> signs, rules, regulations posted. Tracy stated that there were rules and regulations posted. <br /> It was asked if the Parks and Recreation offers scholarship's for the programs. Tracy <br /> stated that there were scholarships offered. <br /> The 1996 softball season went well. Perry Park fields had a few minor problems that <br /> have been corrected for the 1997 softball season. <br /> DIRECTORS REPORT <br /> Trail Update <br /> The trail along Highway 96 overall is completed, except a few minor problem areas. The <br /> restoration needs to be finished. <br /> Ingerson Park <br /> There was an informal request from a resident to have access/easement to a small portion <br /> of Ingerson Park. The resident wants to put in a driveway through the access of Ingerson <br /> Park. Cindy will provide more information at the November meeting. <br /> • <br /> 3 <br />
