Arden Hills Parks,Trails and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes 9 <br /> March 26,2002 <br /> • Ms. Olson stated that they are trying to get the parade going, and that the even would include a <br /> fireworks display. She stated that the event would start at 1:00 p.m. adding that it would be more <br /> focused. She stated that they are encouraging more community involvement noting that they did <br /> an awesome job last year with the celebration. <br /> Mr. Moore reminded the Committee about the Ramsey County Friends of the Park Tree program. <br /> He reviewed the donation process and referenced a discussion they had as a group about donating <br /> a tree. He encouraged the Committee to contribute as individuals in addition to the group. <br /> Ms. Olson stated that if there are any community members that the Committee knows of that are <br /> experienced in arts or foods to refer them to her. <br /> D. Council Liaison Larson- Council Update <br /> Council Liaison Larson stated that they are continuing with the presentations on Tcap. He <br /> explained that they have three developers yet to present adding that they would be hearing from <br /> six groups and once completed they would then determine the next step,which would be to <br /> choose amongst the six presenters. He referenced a consortium stating that they need assistance <br /> in funding and development. He stated that their next focus would be legislation to free up some <br /> of the land. <br /> He stated that the second item for update involves a hearing that took place for Guidant. He <br /> . explained that Guidant is a large corporate citizen in Arden Hills and that they are proposing a <br /> new planned unit development for their campus. He stated that the plan is for the next twenty <br /> years with a significant increase in employment. He stated that the proposal was presented to the <br /> Council and neighborhood. He explained that the residents identified two items of concern, <br /> traffic and visual impact. <br /> Committee Member Krenn stated that they did not hear as much at the table as what was <br /> expected and that they are presently reviewing the traffic impact at this time. <br /> Council Liaison Larson stated that third item for update involves the small pavement plan for this <br /> year. He stated that they are going forward with the plan and provided the Committee with an <br /> overview of the area involved. <br /> Committee Member Messerly asked for a copy of the Tcap plan and clarified his understanding <br /> that they have to come to Arden Hills to request use. Council Liaison Larson confirmed stating <br /> that it is governed by Arden Hills ordinances and zoning. He reviewed the areas involved with <br /> the Committee. <br /> NEXT MEETING AGENDA <br /> Chair Straumann clarified that the agenda items for the next work session work be the Parks <br /> • Budget adding that it should include 3-5 priorities from each Committee member. <br />
