Arden Hills Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes 10 <br /> June 11, 2002 <br /> • Committee Member Crassweller stated that he does not want to preserve dollars in a Park Fund <br /> and not spend it. Committee Member Henry clarified that what he meant to say was that there are <br /> other areas where money can be obtained to purchase trees outside of the Park Fund. <br /> Chair Straumann referenced Crepeau Park and asked if they needed to work with MSI. Mr. <br /> Moore stated that MSI is beginning their Buckthorn Removal next week. Committee Member <br /> Messerly stated that he did not think it was necessary to coordinate anything with MSI in regards <br /> to Buckthorn removal. <br /> Chair Straumann stated that they should arrange a meeting with the National Guard to discuss <br /> access to the area. Committee Member Henry suggested meeting on the property. <br /> Mr. Moore stated that he would contact the National Guard to determine the time frame that <br /> would work best for them to meet. <br /> Chair Straumann stated that he would be out of town in two weeks and would not be available on <br /> Tuesday. He reminded the Committee that the Council Work Session is next Monday, June 17, <br /> 2002 at 5:00 p.m. He suggested that the Committee meet the next evening or not meet in June. <br /> Committee Member Henry suggested no Tuesday meeting in June. Committee Member <br /> Thompson agreed and asked for a recap of the meeting via email. <br /> Chair Straumann reviewed the agenda content for the meeting scheduled next Monday, June 17, <br /> 2002 with the Committee. He explained that the intent would be to introduce who they are and <br /> the neighborhood they represent. <br /> NEXT MEETING AGENDA <br /> Chair Straumann announced that there would not be a PTRC meeting on June 25, 2002. <br /> Committee Member Henry agreed that discussion points are good reference for the meeting and <br /> are also good to use when talking with the residents about issues. Mr. Moore suggested <br /> emphasizing the signs and the numbers. <br /> Committee Member Crassweller suggested mentioning in the presentation the features in the plan <br /> that has major costs and cannot be funded out of the Park Plan. He stated that it is important to <br /> identify these items to Council and to show that they are still on their list and not abandoned <br /> ideas. <br /> Committee Member Henry suggested presenting this to Guidant as an opportunity. Committee <br /> Member Crassweller agreed and reviewed the issues that would need to be addressed at the City <br /> level. He stated that there are considerable dollars available to them if they present their issues in <br /> a positive fashion. <br /> is <br />
