•k A. Project Understanding: Our understanding is that the intent of the proposed project is to develop concept designs for the buildings that have been proposed in Arden Hills' existing parks. This is based on the Parks, Trails and Open Space Plan for Arden Hills prepared by Ingraham & Associates, dated May 7, 2002. Your stated goal for the project is to develop building site plans, floor plans and exterior elevations for the proposed buildings. It was stated that the parks are currently classified in three categories; Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. Level 1 is the most highly developed park offering the most amenities with Levels 2 and 3 Parks being smaller and offering fewer facilities. Your intention is that our office study the proposed Level 1 park buildings specifically to the park and site while the proposed buildings in Level 2 and Level 3 buildings be provided with a prototypical building based on the function. Based on the final concept designs, HCM Architects will develop construction cost estimates for the proposed buildings in each park. In addition, you requested that we study a prototype design and identity element for the main park entry signs. It was also determined that the city wants to have a unified design image or language to all it's park buildings. The image would be modeled after the prairie style architecture HCM Architects developed for the Tony Schmidt Regional Park buildings located in Arden Hills. B. Scope of Services: We propose that our services be as follows: 1. Level 1 Parks—Concept Building Designs and Site/ Building Analysis We propose to provide the following concept design work for the Level 1 Parks: - Building/site plans of the areas surrounding the buildings. - Floor plan - Exterior elevations showing materials - Building image/ perspective sketch.We will provide 2 colored renderings total. Your intent is that each individual building's design be specific to each park and building site based on the building's function. The following are the proposed buildings to be looked at in the Level 1 parks: Cummings Park 1. A combination toilet building/warming house/picnic shelter facility. Floral Park 1. A picnic shelter with toilet rooms. Charles Perry Park 1. A picnic shelter with toilet rooms. The shelter may incorporate a full kitchen for events. 2. Warming house with toilets. 3. Reuse/adaptation of the existing warming house for storage. Hazelnut Park 1. Warming house with toilets. 2. Picnic shelter with toilet rooms.
