Arden Hills Parks,Trails and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes 5 <br /> November 26,2002 <br /> • Committee Member Crassweller stated they had a long-term ten-year plan that would cost a lot <br /> of money, and if the Council wanted the plan to go forward, they would need the funds to <br /> implement the plan. He noted the PTRC would follow the long-term plan and the Council would <br /> have the ultimate approval authority. <br /> Committee Member Thompson agreed with Committee Member Crassweller,but she believed <br /> they needed to present a specific plan and itemization to the Council. <br /> Committee Member Crassweller stated he wanted the City Council to make the decision <br /> regarding this request. <br /> The Committee reached the consensus to proceed as they had originally intended in September, <br /> 2002. <br /> 9. BRIDGE UNDERPASS FOR PERRY AND TONY SCHMIDT <br /> Greg Mack, Ramsey County Representative, stated Ramsey County was still holding hearings <br /> regarding the bridge,but it had recommended funding for the underpass. It was anticipated the <br /> design work would begin in the spring. <br /> Committee Member Crassweller requested this item be placed on the next agenda for further <br /> discussion. <br /> 10. OTHER ITMES FOR DISCUSSION <br /> Ms. Olson presented a memorandum regarding paying Derrick Hames for his work on the City <br /> park signs. The Committee expressed gratitude that this was done. <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Henry motioned, seconded by Committee Member <br /> Crassweller to recommend the profile of Derrick Hames in the next City <br /> newsletter. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Henry motioned, seconded by Committee Member <br /> Crassweller to present a$100.00 Gift Certificate to Derrick Hames from the Park <br /> Fund for Christmas. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> Chair Straumann requested staff to confirm with Committee Member Speegen that he was <br /> returning to the Committee. <br /> Chair Straumann noted the City needed to know if the current Committee Members were willing <br /> to serve on the Committee for another year. He recommended they appoint a Vice Chair for next <br /> year also. He requested staff check with the City Council regarding the appointment of a Vice <br /> Chair. <br />
