Arden Hills Parks,Trails and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes 4 <br /> November 26,2002 <br /> 5. PARKS AND RECREATION UPDATES <br /> Ms. Olson discussed the following items with the Committee: <br /> ❖ The Santa Breakfast was on December 7. <br /> ❖ She noted they had taken bids on cleaning up the downstairs storage area. <br /> ❖ The Day in the Park Committee was meeting on December 10 and they were looking for <br /> more members for the Committee. The Day in the Park will be on June 28, 2003. <br /> ❖ She noted she was researching recreation software because the current software they had <br /> was outdated and difficult to work with. <br /> ❖ She noted they had recently attended the MRP conference. <br /> ❖ The warming houses and rink areas were being prepared for flooding. <br /> 6. PARK PARTNERS PROGRAM <br /> Chair Straumann asked if they wanted to use the Guidant money as a kick off to the Parks <br /> Partner Program. <br /> Committee Members Henry and Crassweller stated they did not agree with that because Guidant <br /> was being required to give the money and they were not giving it as a gift. <br /> Committee Member Thompson stated they needed to be careful that they did not come across as <br /> not wanting Guidant as a partner. <br /> Ms. Olson noted Guidant was very supportive of the community, and she believed they would be <br /> willing to participate as a parks partner. <br /> Committee Member Henry requested this item be put back on the next agenda for further <br /> discussion. <br /> 7. 2003 BUDGET OVERVIEW <br /> Ms. Olson reviewed what was being proposed for the 2003 budget. She stated this would be <br /> brought back for discussion at the next meeting. <br /> 8. PTRC BUDGET ALLOCATION REQUESU/MOTION FOR 2003 BUDGET <br /> Committee Member Thompson noted her concern was not about the recommendation,but how it <br /> was being recommended. <br /> Committee Member Crassweller stated this had already been approved at the September <br /> meeting. <br /> Committee Member Thompson expressed concern that they were not saying exactly what they <br /> wanted the money for. She noted the City Council would want a plan of why they needed the <br /> money and what they were going to do with it. <br />
