riinutes of Regular Parks and Recreation Committee meeting <br /> • Village of Arden Hills <br /> Tuesday, July 24, 1984 - 7:30 p.m. <br /> Village Hall <br /> Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Sand a+• 7:30 P.m. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present - Sand, Klick, Kostishack, Gillies, hesserly, Otto, Sather, <br /> Mulcahy <br /> Absent - Anderson, Dreyling, Enrooth, Wild, Tuggle <br /> also Present - I,Vor R. Woodburn, Parks Director J. Buckley, North Heights <br /> Representatives - Dick Brownlee, Walt Roberts, W. Dennis <br /> Peterson <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> motion was made by Klick, secon:-led by Otto, that the .minutes of June 12, 1984 <br /> be approved. The motion was czrried unanimously. <br /> Addition to the Tooker Report <br /> Kostishack said the "Charles Tooker Report" should include progress for Handicapp- <br /> ing Comiitions, not just for Senior Citizens. <br /> North Heights Lutheran Church Development Presentation <br /> Dick Brownlee, Station 19 Architect, used an overhead projector to present a <br /> ' proposal consistin" of four stages: <br /> - seating 3,OOC <br /> Stage 1 - Will include a Worship Sanctuary <br /> people, area for Christian education, kitchen, <br /> support facilities, offices, parking, etc. <br /> - Stage 2 - Will build an additiomal Worship Facility seating <br /> 2,000. <br /> - Stage 3 - Co.,umunity aai Recreation Center and Christian hostel <br /> - atage 4 - A Prayer Retreat house <br /> In the discussion some of the following information was included. <br /> - They would b.: very sensitive to the preservation of natural <br /> trees and existing pond areas. <br /> - They would accomrr�adate a large amount of water "rue off". <br /> - Their immediate need is to establish Stage 1. <br /> - They would be in agreement to serve the Community if it xou:al <br /> be in accordance to their goals. <br /> - They felt their plans are quite compatible with the Arden hills <br /> Village Code. <br /> - The break-down for the grourd useage was as follows: <br /> 45.7 Total Acres <br /> 4.3 Acres will be used for Storm Drainage and Ponciing <br /> 21.6y' Acres of Green Acreage <br /> Sather concluded by pointing out how well the North Heights Committee had laid out <br /> their plans. <br /> Park Dedication Discussion <br /> Buckley distributed maps to point out to the Committee the areas that remain un- <br /> platted in the area. 4 2.4 acres Park Site could be acquired through Park Dedication. <br />
