Minutes of Regular Parks and Recreation <br /> Village of Arden Hills <br /> • Tuesday , August 14, 1984 - 7 :30 p.m. <br /> Village Hall <br /> Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7 :35 p.m. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present - C. Sand, D. Klick, D. Kostishack, M. Gillies , K. Enroth, <br /> J. Otto <br /> Absent - A. Anderson, G. Dreyling, D. Messerly, T. Sather, M. Wild <br /> Also Present - Mayor R. Woodburn, .Parks Director J. Buckley, North <br /> Heights Representative A. Lien, and Mounds View <br /> Basketball Assn. Representatives J. Janke and G. Bagan <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Motion was made by Jim Otto, seconded by D. Kostishack that the <br /> minutes of July 24th be approved as corrected. <br /> Corrections were made as follows : <br /> a. Page 1 - Under addition to the Tooker Report, the sentence should <br /> read: "Kostishack said the "Charles Tooker Report" should include <br /> Programs (instead of Progress) for People with Handicapping <br /> Conditions , in addition for Senior Citizens . " , <br /> • b. Bottom of Page 1 - Another sentence should be added to the last <br /> statement regarding North Heights as follows : "There was, however, <br /> concern expressed about sufficient acreage break-down for storm <br /> drainage and ponding complying to the acreage ordinance. <br /> C. Last part of last sentence under Fall Program Review and Approval <br /> on Page 2 should read: "After hearing from the :people who are <br /> putting on the program. <br /> d. The first sentence under Park Committee Member Resignation should <br /> read: "Sand announced that Tim Tuggle resigned because of his <br /> conflict of meetings on Tuesday evenings . <br /> Mounds View Basketball Presentation <br /> Mr. Janke and Mr. Bagan explained to the Committee what their goals <br /> in their program are. The following points were brought forth: <br /> - They felt the need for a stronger in-house and traveling program. <br /> The Mounds View Basketball Program would be patterned after the <br /> Irondale Basketball Program. Their program has been established <br /> for 15 years for grades 3 - 8 . <br /> - Want more participation for girls . A separate girls and boys <br /> program seem to encourage more girls ' participation. <br /> - The 7th and 8th grades have no school basketball pragram. The <br /> • Mounds View Basketball Program will provide an active program <br /> for this age group. <br /> Want more parent participaiton. <br /> Get basketball better known in the area. <br />
