Minutes of Regular Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting <br /> Tuesday , April 10 , 1984 <br /> Page Three <br /> Miscellaneous/New Business <br /> April 30 - the State Regional Parks meeting at Metro Council . <br /> Buckley has additional information . Committee members are encouraged to <br /> attend . Summer 1984 program was reviewed . Sather moved and Wild <br /> seconded a motion to approve the proposed program. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. Kostishack and Gillies requested a backboard at the <br /> edge of the paved area in Valentine Park . Buckley agreed that this <br /> could be done by the parks maintenance crew. Committee agreed that <br /> Valentine Park area needs the addition of this facility. <br /> Committee requested the current plan for tree plantings . Buckley <br /> reported the Park Department has 500 seedlings to be planted . Sand <br /> suggested community involvement and will provide manpower. This <br /> committee will go out and get community organized into hole digging <br /> units and the parks maintenance crew will put the seedlings in the <br /> holes . <br /> Dreyling announced that the D & R will give trees to any group if <br /> you plant them on public land . Buckley said policy has changed - <br /> no more free seedlings . <br /> Adjournment <br /> Sather moved and Wild seconded a motion to adjourn at 9 : 32 p.m. <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Submitted by Helen Schmidt . <br /> THE NEXT REGULAR PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING WILL BE HELD <br /> ON TUESDAY , MAY 8 , 1984 - 6 : 30 p .m.
