� 1 <br /> Minutes of Regular Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting <br /> Village of Arden Hills <br /> June 21 , 1983 <br /> Village Hall <br /> Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7 : 35 p . m. by Chair Sand . <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present : D. Sand , A. Anderson, K. Boss , G. Dreylung , D. Klick, <br /> D. Kostishack, T. Tuggle <br /> Absent : M. Bergene, J . Gilbert, P. Lippert, J . Otto, T. Sather-, <br /> A. Montgomery, M. Wild <br /> Also Present : Mayor R. Woodburn <br /> Parks Director J . 1'. Buckley <br /> Ap2rorsaI of Minutes <br /> Motion was made by T. Tuggle, seconded by K. Boss, that the <br /> minutes of May 10 be approved as mailed. Motion carried unani - <br /> mously. <br /> Tour of Village Parks <br /> Tour of the Village parks by Committee members scheduled origi - <br /> nally for June 13, and then June 20, had to be cancelled both <br /> times because of inclement weather. The tour will now be held <br /> at the regular July meeting, July 12 , at 6 : 00 p .m. After the tour, <br /> meeting will be held to work on p y wo u d ro used 1934 budget d Ten <br /> Year Park 1m rovement Plan. uc e like to € nvite any <br /> mem ers who cannot make the July meeting to call him and arrangs <br /> alternate time for tour of Village parks with him. <br /> mmittee Membership <br /> JX/R_ckley reported that Al Montgomery will be returning to school <br /> for two years at Cowa City , will not be able to continue to serve <br /> on Committee. He Is very interested in service on the Committee <br /> when he returns to Arden Hills. Chair Sand noted that vacancy <br /> will exist on the Committee , would like any suggestions for another <br /> member from that area of the Village given to T. Mulcahy. <br /> Cummin s Park, Plans <br /> Planner Miller expects to present drawings and grading specifica- <br /> tions for Cummings Park to Council on June 27 for approval . if <br /> approved , he will be advertising for bids the next three weeks . <br /> Bid award recommendations will be given to the Council on July 25, <br /> and hopefully grading and seeding done In late August or early <br /> September. Miller has expressed some concern about severity of <br /> grade of trail leading from Lexington Ave. to park, appears to be <br /> a 3 to U slope. A. Anderson queried cost of foot bridge across <br /> gully , Dreyling suggested plank steps. Foot bridge would be very <br /> expensive, steps would still not make path usable by handicappel <br /> or mothers with strollers . <br /> Ten Year Park Development <br /> fi t <br /> • Committee concurred thaiiey would like to delay final approval <br />
