CONSENT ITEM— 6D ,-iIZEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: August 22, 2022 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers Dave Perrault, City Administrator FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk SUBJECT: Temporary Liquor License Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: N/A N/A N/A Council Should Consider Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: • Approval of a Temporary Liquor License to MATTER(a non-profit) for an event at Boston Scientific on September 27, 2022 All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. Background/Discussion The City received a request for a temporary liquor license for an event to be held at Boston Scientific on Tuesday, September 27. This event is for employees and their guests and is not open to the public. A non-profit called MATTER that is based in St. Louis Park, Minnesota will be on site at Boston Scientific providing a volunteer project. MATTER has made application for the temporary liquor license and is partnering with Omni Brewing to provide beverages (see Attachment A— temporary liquor license application form). There is no fee for this type of license (neither City nor State). Both MATTER and Omni have provided the required Certificate of Insurance, which includes specific liquor liability coverage. Should the Council approve this temporary liquor license application, the City Clerk will execute and provide such to the State's Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division (AGED). AGED has the final approval of temporary licenses and requires 30 days' notice of an event. The City will meet this deadline without issue. Budget Impact N/A Attachments A.
