CONSENT ITEM— 6D <br /> ,-iIZEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 22, 2022 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk <br /> SUBJECT: Temporary Liquor License <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> Council Should Consider <br /> Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> • Approval of a Temporary Liquor License to MATTER(a non-profit) for an event at <br /> Boston Scientific on September 27, 2022 <br /> All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> The City received a request for a temporary liquor license for an event to be held at Boston <br /> Scientific on Tuesday, September 27. This event is for employees and their guests and is not <br /> open to the public. <br /> A non-profit called MATTER that is based in St. Louis Park, Minnesota will be on site at Boston <br /> Scientific providing a volunteer project. MATTER has made application for the temporary <br /> liquor license and is partnering with Omni Brewing to provide beverages (see Attachment A— <br /> temporary liquor license application form). There is no fee for this type of license (neither City <br /> nor State). Both MATTER and Omni have provided the required Certificate of Insurance, which <br /> includes specific liquor liability coverage. <br /> Should the Council approve this temporary liquor license application, the City Clerk will execute <br /> and provide such to the State's Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division (AGED). AGED <br /> has the final approval of temporary licenses and requires 30 days' notice of an event.
