A few examples are the Waterslide (100 X 25) at Valentine Hills School.
Hawaiin Day, Fruit Bowl, Treat Day, and Dress Like Dad Day.
STAFF MEETINGS Every Tuesday noon, the staff met at the Village Hall to plan and
prepare their format for the following week's activities. It was used as a rap session to
compare experiences and discuss what works well with the children. The leaders and I felt
that this time was too short and needed to be longer. Not all groups have had this need
because some groups work and plan faster. An alternative might be to meet at the Hall
one afternoon following the program, like from 4:00 to 5:00.
STAFF PERFORMANCE Four very capable and responsible leaders were hired this summer.
They camtwith alot of experience and it was evident in their work. The teams were divided
appropriately - good teamwork! Field trips have never run more smoothly. This was due
to the dependability of the staff.
CRAFTS The children enjoyed the craft activities very much. The leaders implemented
ideas they got from the workshop. Again, we all appreciated the budget that allowed us to
purchase worthwhile supplies and projects. It is a big contributor to the quality of
our program. The following is a list of supply and equipment expenses.
S&S Crafts 48.64
Target 94. 11
St. Paul Book 103.81
IGA 69.49
Snyder Drug 16.57
Hardware Hank 6.80
Frank's 12.00
Drew's Fabric 2.99
• Triarco 173.97
Steichen's 40.00
568.38
