SUMMER PROGRAM Buckley presented the summer program proposal for review. New programs are: summer youth gymnastics at Valentine Hills School, tennis team co-sponsored by Northwest Tennis Club, and Bird Club. Enrooth moved, seconded by Otto, that summer program be presented to Council for approval. Motion carried. ARSENAL SPORTS Buckley stated that the North Ramsey Sports Complex COMPLEX proposal was presented to Ted Schulte, commander of the Twin City Arsenal on April 4. Mr. Schulte stated that he would immediately send the proposal to the proper channels. He hopes that some response will be received in April. PARK IMPMTS. Buckley stated that he will seek Council approval to have the City Engineer prepare the pathway specifications for blacktopping the Hazelnut Park pathway from Glenpaul to Stowe Avenue. $25,000 is budgeted in 1989 for Trail Improvement. City Engineer Barry Peters stated that the preliminary cost for the project would be around $20,000. It is hoped that the bidding process can be completed soon, so the project can be scheduled for completion in early summer. MISC/NEW BUSINESS Buckley noted that the new park on North Snelling has not been officially named. Arden Hills parks have historically been named after: past mayors (Cummings, Crepeau), original landowners (Perry, Ingerson, Sampson), neighborhood names (Hazelnut) or after additions or geographic locations (Arden Manor, Chatham Trails, Freeway, Valentine). Alan Montgomery moved, seconded by Enrooth, that the committee recommend to the Council that the new park site on North Snelling be named Royal Hills Park after the Royal Hills Addition. Motion carried. NEXT MTG. The Annual Park Tour will be scheduled for Tuesday, May 23. Committee members are asked to meet in the Village Hall parking lot at 6:00 P.M. The tour will include visiting the park sites and trails in the Village. ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 P.M. 0
