Minutes of the Arden Hills Planning Commission Meeting, 11-01-89 <br /> Page 7 <br /> DISC (Cont'd) Probst identified several items the Commission has <br /> discussed that would be of interest for study: <br /> • 1. Maintaining Planning Commission connection with the Round Lake Development. <br /> Consider sending Requests for Proposals for the Gateway Business District. <br /> 2. Study of Lexington Avenue development/redevelopment, north of County Road E <br /> and south of I-694. <br /> 3. Review of Zoning Ordinance for modifications; Satellite Dish Antennae, <br /> Recreational Vehicles, and a comprehensive review of the code in general. <br /> 4. Study filling of wetlands; develop policy and consider encouraging the City to <br /> purchase identifiable wetland area for purposes of protecting the wetland. <br /> 5. Citywide Trailway System; possible joint study with Parks Committee. <br /> 6. Future of the Arsenal property; short term and long term opportunities, <br /> possibility of encouraging the Army to relocate, and extent of groundwater contamination. <br /> Probst suggested the formation of subcommittees to study the above issues and <br /> requested Commission indicate interest in any of the above subjects or offer <br /> additional items for study. <br /> Clerk Administrator Berger stated he was requested by Council to confer with the <br /> Planner to determine the status of the GB District at Round Lake; the matter has <br /> been deferred pending discussions with a developer interested in the site. <br /> • Members volunteered to serve on the following subcommittees: <br /> Petersen - Wetlands study. Petersen stated he would contact Dave Carlson and <br /> request his assistance to study this matter. <br /> McGraw and Ashbach - Arsenal study. <br /> Piotrowski, Winiecki and Zehm - Comprehensive Review of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> Probst - Trailway System Study. <br /> NOTE: Commission requested those members not in attendance to review the above <br /> subjects and volunteer to serve on a subcommittee at the next meeting. <br /> Chairman Probst suggested the first member to volunteer for the subcommittee <br /> assignment serve as Chair of the subcommittee. <br /> In discussion of the trail system study, Commission requested their preference <br /> for dedication of a public pathway system through the Continental Development <br /> apartment complex to connect to a citywide pathway system be considered. <br /> Planner Bergly displayed a diagram showing a possible connection to the Round <br /> Lake trail system, in the event the US Fish & Wildlife service would allow access <br /> around the lake. <br /> Commission requested Bergly explain the proposed pathway system to Council at <br /> • their next regular meeting November 13. <br />
