Minutes of the Arden Hills Planning Commission Meeting, 12-6-89 <br /> Page 6 <br /> CASE #89-22 (Cont'd) Commission questioned if landscaping was removed with the <br /> foundation excavation. <br /> The project engineer was present and stated no landscaping was removed during <br /> • excavation. <br /> Commission questioned what will be stored in the facility. <br /> The project engineer explained as part of the pacemaker manufacturing process the <br /> units are stored in carts and then are placed in a controlled environment; this <br /> facility will provide a controlled environment and storage area for the carts. He <br /> explained this additional storage area is due to allocation of space and <br /> relocation of employees in the buildings. <br /> Commission questioned if there will be any hazardous materials stored in the <br /> building. <br /> The project engineer advised there are no hazardous materials involved in the <br /> process and none will be stored in this facility. <br /> Commission questioned if the mechanical equipment will be located on the roof and <br /> screened. <br /> The project engineer advised the mechanical equipment is located on the roof <br /> behind a parapet wall; the wall should effectively screen the equipment. <br /> Commission preferred an exterior finish to match the existing brick on the <br /> facility; questioned if the applicant has considered the brick exterior. <br /> • The project engineer explained he has tried to locate the same brick to match the <br /> existing facility and it is not available. He stated the stucco finish will match <br /> the material which is being utilized for the remodeling of the Fernwood Avenue <br /> building. He stated his preference was for the brick exterior, however, an exact <br /> match could not be located. <br /> The project engineer advised the grading plan has been submitted to RCWD for <br /> review and approval. <br /> Chairman Probst questioned if the additional parking requirement should be <br /> addressed at this time. <br /> The Planner advised the parking issue will be addressed at a later phase of the <br /> construction and should be considered at that time. <br /> Zehm moved, seconded by Martin, that Commission recommend <br /> to Council approval of Case #89-22, Site Plan Review for Minor Construction, 4100 <br /> Hamline Avenue, Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc. , subject to grading plan approval from <br /> the Rice Creek Watershed District and City Engineer. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> (7-0) <br /> Case #88-14: SIGN Planner Bergly distributed his report dated 12-6-89, <br /> PERMIT APPROVAL, relative to the request for sign permit approval for <br /> GOODYEAR CENTER, Goodyear Tire Center, 3757 Lexington Avenue. <br /> • The Planner explained the sign plan was submitted to Council at the 11-27-88 <br /> meeting and referred to Planning Commission after it was determined the plan had <br /> not been reviewed by Commission. <br />
