Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Lift Station 7 in -line grinder "cutter stack" replacement purchase <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$0 $21,355.75 Sanitary Sewer Fund, <br />Presbyterian Homes <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Purchase of the Lift Station 7 in -line grinder "cutter stack" replacement parts in the <br />amount of $21,355.75 from Electric Pump and authorize staff to execute invoicing <br />Presbyterian Homes per the agreement. <br />Back-2round/Discussion <br />On Monday, January 13, 2023, the City of Arden Hills Public Works Maintenance Staff <br />performed an inspection of the in -line grinder unit at Lift Station No. 7, which is located near a <br />facility owned by Presbyterian Homes & Services. During that inspection, it was found that the <br />inline grinder unit is in poor working order and in such condition that it is not repairable. It <br />should be noted that the in -line grinder unit at Lift Station No. 7 is approximately fourteen years <br />old and runs, continuously, twenty-four hours per day. The in -line grinder unit, commonly <br />referred to as a `cutter stack', is in need of replacement and should be replaced soon. <br />Per the signed agreement (Attachment A) between the City of Arden Hills and Presbyterian <br />Homes, dated June 8, 2009, Presbyterian Homes agrees to "maintain, repair and/or replace such <br />inline grinder". It is Public Works' determination that the inline grinder unit must be replaced. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
