ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—FEBRUARY 13, 2023 12 <br /> Councilmember Holden asked what was being moved. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Monson moved and Councilmember Fabel seconded a motion <br /> to Approve Recruitment Of Communications Coordinator and allowing <br /> Councilmember Fabel to serve on the interview panel. <br /> Mayor Grant asked for a friendly amendment to the motion to be more general to allow all <br /> Councilmembers to participate in interviews for any positions, should they elect to. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Monson moved and Councilmember Fabel seconded a motion <br /> to Approve Recruitment Of Communications Coordinator allowing <br /> Councilmember Fabel and other Councilmembers to serve on an interview <br /> panel. <br /> Mayor Grant questioned if Councilmember Fabel still wanted to have a resident committee write <br /> for Arden Hills Notes. <br /> Councilmember Fabel stated there have been suggestions to have resident participation and to <br /> receive articles that might be pertinent from time to time for the Arden Hills Notes. He explained he <br /> supported the staff recommendation to bring in a full time Communications Coordinator and as <br /> staff works with that individual, if it appears it would be a good idea to have additional citizen <br /> participation then that is something that can be pursued. <br /> A roll call vote was taken. The motion carried (5-0). <br /> 9. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Planning Case 22-023 Planned Unit Development — New Perspective Senior <br /> Living—3565 Pine Tree Drive—Arden Hills RE, LLC <br /> Community Development Director Jagoe stated the Applicant submitted a land use application <br /> for a Planned Unit Development (PUD) Amendment, seeking flexibility on the location, number, <br /> and size of wall and monument signs at the New Perspective Senior Living building. The Applicant <br /> shares an existing multi-tenant sign with Bethel University. The Applicant is proposing three <br /> additional signs as part of their signage plan, a main entrance monument sign, a wall sign, and a <br /> directional sign. The proposed main entrance monument size requires flexibility on the location and <br /> number/size. The proposed wall sign requires flexibility on the size. The directional sign as <br /> proposed complies with City Code. <br /> Community Development Director Jagoe reviewed the recommendations from the Planning <br /> Commission in detail with the City Council. Staff requested the City Council hold a Public Hearing <br /> regarding the PUD from New Perspective Senior Living. <br /> Councilmember Holden questioned how far sign 2 was from the County Road E sidewalk. <br /> Community Development Director Jagoe reviewed the proposed location for sign 2. <br /> Mayor Grant asked if the westerly facing sign would be backlit but not utilizing LED. <br />
