Lake Johanna Boulevard <br />Trail Design Study <br />Preliminary Design Development Report 20 September 27, 2022 <br />Project Cost Estimate <br />For the west/north alignment, the roadway and trail construction cost budgetary estimate totals approximately <br />$5.19 million dollars. Soft costs, including right of way acquisition, engineering and construction administration, <br />are anticipated to be 20% of the construction cost, which would total approximately $1.07 million dollars. The total <br />calculated budgetary project cost is $6.26 million. However, the actual project cost is anticipated to range between <br />$5.8 million and $6.8 million depending upon details of the final design, which will be determined during later <br />phases of the project development. <br />For the east/south alignment, the roadway and trail construction cost budgetary estimate totals approximately <br />$5.55 million dollars. Soft costs, including right of way acquisition, engineering and construction administration, <br />are anticipated to be 20% of the construction cost, which would total approximately $1.31 million dollars. The total <br />calculated budgetary project cost is $6.86 million. However, the actual project cost is anticipated to range between <br />$6.4 million and $7.4 million depending upon details of the final design, which will be determined during later <br />phases of the project development. <br />Primary elements differentiating the costs between the east/south and west/north alignments include the <br />anticipated scope of retaining wall construction, driveway reconstruction and temporary easement areas. All of <br />these elements are estimated to be greater for the east/south alignment due to the steep topography adjacent to <br />Lake Johanna between Lake Lane and County Road E as well as the number and width of private driveways along <br />the east/south side of the roadway. These assumptions will need to be examined in greater detail to adjust <br />estimated costs appropriately as a part of the next phase of design related to the project. <br /> <br />A cost estimate table that includes detailed roadway and trail, acquisition, engineering and construction costs can <br />be found in Appendix G.
