2023 Parks Maintenance Plan <br />Maintaining the City Parks and city owned property is outlined in the Parks Maintenance Policy (PMP) <br />(last revised 2010) and outlines four levels of service. Some of the maintenance and techniques have <br />deviated since the last revision to this policy, to create a more efficient work flow, utilization of current <br />PW equipment, staffing, and products on the market. <br />Public Works utilizes four types of labor resources that will be referenced in the 2023 Plan. See below, <br />the types and abbreviations used in the plan. <br />x Full Time Public Works Staff (FTE) <br />x Seasonal part time Staff (SPT) <br />x MN Corrections Work Crew (ICWC) <br />x Volunteer Organizations/ Groups/ Individuals (VOL) <br />Routine park maintenance based on the level of service each park is assigned in the PMP, will receive <br />routine mowing, trimming, trash pickup, and misc. maintenance. <br />Floral Park asphalt trail maintenance (map below) will include spot replacement/ paving as needed. This <br />will be in conjunction with the 2023 PW Paving Project. Sections of trail will be evaluated for spot <br />replacement or reclaim and repaved. Removal of dead/ diseased trees and trees that either need to be <br />trimmed or removed as preventative maintenance will be completed prior to the trail project. <br />Restoration of green space disturbed by the project will take place after the paving is complete. Park <br />benches within the work area will ne assessed for repair or replacement needs as part of this project.
