X

City of Arden Hills
October 7, 2022

to the Old Snelling Ave. / Old Highway 10 Trail would be just south of the Round Lake outlet between
Brueberry Ln. and Wedgewood Cir., and the trail would run west along the Round Lake outlet to the south
shore of Round Lake. Refer to Page 5 of Figure 3 in Appendix A.
Within the portion of the proposed trail remaining to be constructed, there is no source of non-motorized
traffic from the east side of the corridor, therefore there is no need for a crossing to allow non-motorized
users to cross the roadway to use the trail.

5.0 CP RAILROAD BRIDGE CROSSING

In the original report, this section discussed the proposed trail crossing at the Canadian Pacific railroad
bridge located north of County Rd. E. This location is outside of the portion of the proposed trail remaining
to be constructed, therefore it is not addressed in this updated report.

6.0 ESTIMATED COSTS

Table 3 summarizes estimated project cost information for the proposed trail. The costs used to develop
this estimate are based on public construction cost information available through MnDOT directly or MnDOT
on Bid Express®. Mobilization and Traffic Control were estimated at 5% as typical for this size and type of
project at this level of project development. Contingency is estimated at 10% based on most categories of
work being included in the present estimate. Overhead is estimated at 20% as typical for this size and type
of project at this level of project development, and includes legal, engineering, administrative, and fiscal
costs. Inflation was not included because the year of construction is unknown. Lastly, as noted in Section
3.3 Other Considerations, this estimate does not include costs for potential wetland mitigation, infiltration
basins, or sediment pond construction. Refer to Appendix B for an itemized project costs table.
