Evaluation Parent Opinion survey <br />Other: The District has many educational programs aimed at increasing <br />student activities and providing safe environments. These are available to <br />students and families on the District website and reinforced by being <br />included in communications directly with students and parents. <br />Equity Multilingual SRTS information <br />Community engagement with priority populations <br />Other: In 2012, the District established the Equity Promise: Mounds View <br />Public Schools is committed to preparing all students for opportunities of <br />their choice after high school, whether they choose college, a trade school, <br />technical college, the military or employment. Programs and services will <br />be in place at all schools to ensure that race, gender, class and disability <br />will not predict students' success. Student academic performance will not <br />fall into patterns identifiable by factors such as race, ethnicity, English <br />language proficiency, socio-economic status and disability. The school that <br />a student attends will not be the predictor of his/her school success. In <br />addition, in 2020 an Equity Promise update goal was established to <br />establish a District Equity Council, Improve and enhance supports for <br />people of color and other underrepresented students with a focus on <br />college and career planning. Establish annual training for staff in the areas <br />of anti -racism, implicit bias, equity and inclusion. Redesign curriculum and <br />materials to be more culturally responsive and to include absent narratives. <br />Review systems and structures for placement of students into courses. <br />Review District policies and regulations through the lens of anti -racism. <br />Increase the number of staff of color across our workforce. <br />Engagement / Enforcement Other: The Equity Promise program includes a significant level of <br />engagement. Areas of Focus include - Move the District beyond tolerance <br />and celebration to inclusivity, achievement and respect. - Consult <br />District on policies, programs, guidelines and practices Create shared and <br />committed leadership. - Work to increase public confidence through <br />school/community relationships. - Inclusive curriculum and assessment <br />practices. - Promote school climate and the prevention of discrimination <br />and harassment. - Promote professional learning. - Promote accountability <br />and transparency. In a traditional cycle of equity, community perspective <br />shows as a reaction to the policies and practices implemented by a school <br />district. The main goal of the DEC is to infuse community perspective <br />proactively into each level of the equity cycle. The District also has three <br />Equity Specialist staff positions dedicated to develop a positive building <br />climate and promote educational equity, achievement and post -secondary <br />readiness for each student. This work often includes providing academic <br />support, cultural mentoring, conflict resolution counseling and bridging <br />access gaps to academic, social and emotional growth opportunities <br />
