Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Lift Station 5 Forcemain Rehabilitation Project — Professional Services <br />Agreement with Bolton & Menk, Inc. <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$435,000 (Forcemain) TBD Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund <br />$115,000 (Pumps and Valves) <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Professional Service Agreement with Bolton & Menk, Inc. in the amount not -to - <br />exceed of $121,084 for the Lift Station 5 Forcemain Rehabilitation Project. <br />Background <br />The Public Works Department maintains a program to refurbish and update sanitary sewer lift <br />stations on a cycle for reliability, technology and risk management. Public Works tracks data and <br />conducts testing and inspections to each of the 14 total wastewater lift stations around the City to <br />assist in determining future maintenance and rehabilitation needs. <br />Lift Station 5 has indicated a need to replace the existing forcemain, pumps and check valves. <br />This project is proposed for 2024 construction within the City's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) <br />The existing forcemain is 3250-feet in length, is made of cast iron pipe (CIP) and was installed in <br />1960. The route of the existing forcemain is within an easement that is located within residential <br />properties, it extends under residential streets and borders the neighboring City of New Brighton. <br />Replacement of the existing forcemain will be by directional drilling new 10-inch PVC, 2400-ft <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
